Valoración y autenticidad del patrimonio arquitectónico: El componente inmaterial

Abstract

El presente artículo pretende analizar el Patrimonio Arquitectónico desde un enfoque poco común, centrándose fundamentalmente en sus valores inmateriales. El estudio viene motivado por la vital importancia de este tipo de bienes para la conformación de la identidad de un determinado pueblo. A través del análisis de una serie de hitos arquitectónicos de distintas culturas y diversa naturaleza, hemos puesto en evidencia la dificultad que entraña la restauración de este tipo de Patrimonio, pues los límites de cada actuación dependerán de la correcta identificación del conjunto de valores que caracterizan a cada monumento. A pesar de que el Patrimonio Arquitectónico se presenta a la sociedad a través de su materialidad, en ocasiones son otro tipo de valores los que adquieren mayor importancia. Es entonces cuando el valor inmaterial resulta clave, pues determinará la verdadera “autenticidad” de los edificios. La Carta de Nara de 1994 ha tratado esta problemática de forma genérica, permitiendo respetar la enorme disparidad de culturas que habitan nuestro planeta, así como la manera de enfrentarse a la conservación de su Patrimonio ArquitectónicoThis article aims to analyze the Architectural Heritage from a rare perspective, focusing mainly on its immaterial values. The study is motivated by the vital importance of this type of property for the shaping of the identity of a particular society. Through the analysis of a series of buildings of different cultures and diverse nature, we have highlighted the difficulty involved in restoring this type of heritage, because the limits of each action will depend on the correct identification of the set of values that characterize each monument. Despite the fact that the Architectural Heritage is presented to society through its materiality, it is sometimes another type of value that acquires greater importance. It is then when the immaterial value becomes key, as it will determine the true “authenticity” of the buildings. The Nara Charter of 1994 has dealt with this problem in a generic way, allowing to respect the enormous disparity of cultures that inhabit our planet, as well as the way to face the conservation of its Architectural Heritage
