Reconstruir el pasado para construir la democracia

Abstract

No hay democracia sin memoria histórica y sin instituciones plurales al servicio de esta idea. Los medios de comunicación y la institución educativa han de contribuir al fortalecimiento de la democracia con el convencimiento de su responsabilidad social; sobre todo, porque, en gran medida, depende de ellos la percepción que tengamos del presente, sobre el cual vamos a construir nuestra idea del pasado. Se parte por tanto, en este trabajo de la necesidad de conocer lo que hemos sido como parte consustancial e imprescindible para saber lo que somos.

There is no democracy without historical memory and without diverse institutions at the service of this idea. The media and the educational institution have to contribute to the strengthening of the democracy with the conviction of their social responsibility; mostly, because, to a great extent, it depends on them the perception that we have of the present, on which we are going to build our idea of the past. Therefore, in this work, it is assumed the need to know what we have been as a consubstantial and essential part to know what we are.
