Abstract
Las Escuelas de Segunda Oportunidad son, en la actualidad, un tipo característico de institución educativa que se dedica, intensiva y específicamente, en colaboración con las familias, a promover la inserción social y educativa de un alumnado en general muy vulnerable y en evidente riesgo de exclusión. En este artículo se pretende, en primer lugar, dar a conocer estas escuelas, sus cualidades, objetivos y modos de actuación. Como ejemplo,se analiza una escuela particular, situada en el suroeste de Andalucía, poniendo de relieve sus prácticas educativas más relevantes. A continuación, el argumento se centra en los objetivos, orientaciones y aspectos metodológicos que el profesorado tiene en cuenta y desarrolla típicamente en este tipo de escuelas.
The Second Opportunity Schools are, currently, a distinctive type of educational institution working, intensive and specifically, in collaboration with the families, to promote social and educational inclusion of students in general very vulnerable and at obvious risk of exclusion. This article try, first of all, to describe these schools, their characteristics, objectives and ways of action. As an example, we analyze a particular school, located in Southwest Andalusia, through its most interesting educational practices. Finally, the argument focuses on the objectives, guidelines and methodological issues that teachers typically considers and develop in such schools.
