Abstract

Los directores de cine se han inspirado en múltiples ocasiones en los grandes pintores, tanto para comprender las obras representadas como para reproducir ambientes y colores como para contar sus vidas, recrear sus argumentos y revivir sus formas de expresión. Muchos directores y fotógrafos cinematográficos fueron pintores, como Fritz Lang y Houston, otros artistas han puesto su arte al servicio de los decorados, Dalí por ejemplo, o al vestuario, los títulos de crédito, la dirección artística o los diseños arquitectónicos.

Cinema directors have been inspired by great painters in multiple occasions, both for understanding the artworks and to imitate the environment and colors presented. They also serve to narrate their life experiences, recreate their motifs and revive their forms of expression. A lot of directors and film photographers were also painters, such as Fritz Lang and Houston. Other artists have put their art at the service of the sets, such as Dali, or to the costumes, credits, artistic direction or architectural designs.
