Tendencia educativa bilingüe y bicultural para la educación del sordo: un nuevo camino hacia la inclusión

Abstract

El presente trabajo desarrolla la descripción de la tendencia educativa bilingüe bicultural para la educación del sordo. En él, se establece el enfoque bilingüe bicultural como la tendencia que enseña conjuntamente la lengua de signos y la lengua oral, dando lugar a un acercamiento hacia la cultura oyente y a su propia cultura, la cultura sorda. Además, se describen los tipos de bilingüismos más afines a la educación de los sordos, para referirse posteriormente, a los objetivos que se pretenden conseguir y la relación de dicho enfoque con la inclusión educativa. Todo ello supone la presencia de dificultades en este proceso, por lo que serán analizadas junto con la metodología y las características que cada centro debe cumplir. Finalmente, se hace una referencia a la importancia de la implicación de la familia anotando aspectos de la situación actual, para concluir con la mención de los pilares básicos para una educación bilingüe de calidad y algunas mejoras en su aplicación.

This paper develops a description of the bilingual bicultural educational trend for the education of the deaf. It sets the bilingual bicultural approach as the trend jointly taught sign language and spoken language, leading to a rapprochement with the hearing culture and their own culture, deaf culture. It also describes the types of bilingualism more related to the education of the deaf, to refer later to the objectives to be achieved and the relationship of this approach to educational inclusion. This requires the presence of difficulties in this process, so that will be analyzed together with the methodology and characteristics that each school must meet. Finally, reference is made to the importance of family involvement scoring aspects of the current situation, to conclude with the mention of the basic pillars for quality bilingual education and some improvements in its implementation.
