Abstract

Petrographical features determine physical properties and appearance and as a consequence of this fact the q u a lity o f o rnam ental stones. Phreatic cem ent macrocrystals in fluence the agreeable lig h t c o lo u r of "Crema Marfil Marble". The primary structure of some fossils, mainly Nummulites, determine the presence of mesocrystalline textures and brightness. Veins and stylolites increase the porosity. Stylolites are a negative factor in the m odule o f ru p tu re values b u t its presence become to be h ig h ly estimated by some prescriptors
