Abstract
La polémica surgida por la declaración de
la Inmaculada Concepción de la Virgen,
transcendió lo meramente religioso, para
transformarse en algo social. Así ocurrió
en el reino hispalense y, concretamente
en Aracena. Se presentan los fastos
realizados con tal motivo en 1617. Ejemplo
oportuno que ilustrará más sobre la
mentalidad y festejos de las localidades
serranas andaluzas en la Edad Moderna, su
dimensión y trascendencia
The controversy arising from the declaration of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin, transcended the merely religious, to become something social. This happened in the kingdom of Seville and, specifically, in Aracena. The celebrations made with this motive in 1617 are presented in this study. An opportune example that will illustrate more about the mentality and celebrations of the Andalusian mountain villages in the Modern Age, its dimension and transcendence
