Hacia una formación de personas mayores

Abstract

La permanente acumulación de saberes y conocimientos lleva a que cualquier formación recibida se convierta en obsoleta casi en el mismo momento de su aparición. Esto nos lleva a determinar que, socialmente, los mayores no son los que más saben; por lo manifestado suelen reconocerse y percibirse como los que más ignoran. Esto obliga a la sociedad, y con ella a las instituciones, a inculcar actitud positiva hacia el conocimiento que le permita la búsqueda, selección e interpretación para un más óptimo ajuste y adaptación al ciclo vital en el que se encuentra. Desde este criterio, la sociedad en su conjunto, y cada uno individualmente, en todas las etapas de la vida, estamos comprometidos y obligados a dar respuesta a las necesidades de nuestro contexto social.

The permanent accumulation of knowledge leads to the fact that any formation received becomes obsolete nearly in the same moment of its appearance. This leads us to determine that, socially, elderly people are not the ones who know the most; they usually recognize and perceive themselves as the ones who ignore the most. This forces the society, and with it the institutions, to inculcate a positive attitude towards knowledge which allows the search, selection and interpretation of a more optimal adjustment and adaptation to the life cycle in which it finds itself. From this criteria, society as a whole, and every person individually, in all the stages of his life, are compromised and obliged to give an answer to the necessities of our social context.
