Fortificaciones y estrategias de poder en los señoríos onubenses durante la Baja Edad Media

Abstract

Analizamos en este artículo los distintos significados de las fortificaciones en el contexto de los señoríos onubenses entre los siglos XIII y XV. Interesa especialmente observar el uso que de ellas se hace en el momento de concesión de los señoríos, así como su valor estratégico en las tensiones y disputas territoriales, sin olvidar los aspectos simbólicos y de representación del poder.

In this article we offer the analysis of the different meanings of the fortifications in the lordships of Huelva between the thirteenth and the fifteenth centuries. It is specially interesting to observe how they were used when the lordships were granted, as well as their strategic value when tensions and territorial disputes arose, without forgetting the symbolic aspects and those concerning the representation of the power.
