Hospital de San Juan de Dios: la labor de las Hijas de la Caridad de San Vicente de Paúl

Abstract

Objetivo principal: Describir la labor de las Hijas de la Caridad en el Hospital de San Juan de Dios en Jaén en los siglos XIX y XX. Metodología: Búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos como Dialnet, CiberIndex, PubMed, CINAHL, Digitalia Hispánica, Global Health. Resultados principales: Las Hijas de la Caridad han sido una representación trascendental en los cuidados en los hospitales españoles, en concreto en el Hospital de San Juan de Dios, responsabilizándose, además, de tareas de organización, dirección e instrucción. Además, su fi - gura también fue fundamental para la capacitación del futuro personal y educación de futuras enfermeras. Conclusión principal: La labor de las hijas de la Caridad en el Hospital de San Juan de Dios fue fundamental para la asistencia y organización del hospital en los siglos XIX y XX, proporcionando asistencia, organización, dirección y educación de las futuras enfermeras.

Objective: Describe the work of the Daughters of Charity in the Hospital of San Juan de Dios in Jaén in the 19th and 20th centuries. Methods: Bibliographic search in databases such as Dialnet, CiberIndex, PubMed, CINAHL, Digitalia Hispánica, Global Health. Results: The Daughters of Charity have been a transcendental representation in the care in Spanish hospitals, specifically in the Hospital de San Juan de Dios, also taking responsibility for tasks of organization, direction and instruction. In addition, her figure was also essential for the training of future staff and education of future nurses. Conclusions: The work of the daughters of Charity in the Hospital of San Juan de Dios was fundamental for the assistance and organization of the hospital in the 19th and 20th centuries, providing assistance, organization, direction and education of future nurses.
