La catedral de Sevilla en 1880: informe de los arquitectos Manuel Portillo y Juan Talavera sobre el estado del edificio.

Abstract

Se analiza un informe de 1880 sobre las obras de reparación necesarias en la Catedral de Sevilla, realizado por los arquitectos Manuel Portillo y Juan Talavera. El documento presenta ciertas diferencias con los estudios posteriormente efectuados por Adolfo Fernández Casanova, director de las importantes obras de restauración emprendidas en el edifi cio entre 1882 y 1889.

This study analyzes the 1880 report by architects Manuel Portillo and Juan Talavera on the restoration works needed in the Cathedral of Seville (Spain). The document shows some interesting differences with the diagnosis subsequently done by Adolfo Fernández Casanova, director of the important restoration woks carried out in the building from 1882 to 1889.
