Abstract
La innovación tecnológica es una realidad que transforma con celeridad nuestras vidas
personales y profesionales. la educación no es ajena a este dinamismo, bien al contrario, esta
afectada por una triple incidencia: la disponibilidad de soluciones informáticas, la innovación en
metodologías docentes y la digitalización de las nuevas generaciones de alumnos. ¿estamos
preparados para estos cambios como docentes? este estudio exploratorio pretende aportar una base
conceptual sencilla sobre el metaverso y su contexto vinculado a la educación 4.0. Se analiza la
involucración de docentes. los resultados indican que su grado de conocimiento y utilización de las
aplicaciones vinculadas al contexto del metaverso es muy bajo, aun cuando les gustaría incrementar
su uso. retos como la formación de los docentes, la capacidad de inversión, publicaciones con
experiencias prácticas y la colaboración multidisciplinar en el diseño son factores a mejorar para
mejorar el aprendizaje en el aula
