Abstract
Este artículo muestra que la selección y uso de libros de texto para el desarrollo de las clases
de Matemáticas de los docentes analizados se hace desde el marco de sus concepciones. La
investigación se ha realizado en dos fases. La primera, de carácter exploratorio, permitió determinar
los criterios de selección y uso de libros de texto por parte de 120 docentes en ejercicio
seleccionados aleatoriamente de entre la población docente de la ciudad (escuelas de gestión
estatal de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, con estudiantes de 12 a 14 años), así como conocer cuál
era el libro que más se recomendaba comprar a los estudiantes. En la segunda fase de la investigación,
basada en una metodología cualitativa, de carácter descriptivo y de corte interpretativo,
se analizó el caso de tres docentes sobre la base de la selección y uso de los libros de texto,
la valoración de sus estudiantes y el análisis de los propios libros.
This paper shows that the selection and use of textbooks for Maths lessons (in the context of the sample teachers studied) is made from the framework of their own perspectives.This research has been carried out in two phases.The first stage, of exploratory nature,permitted the determination of the criteria of selection and use of text books within 120 randomly picked practicing teachers from among the teaching population of the city (state management schools in Buenos Aires city, with 12-14 years students), as well as knowing which was the book that was mostly recommended to students. In the second phase of the research, based on a qualitative methodology, with a descriptive nature and with interpretive intentions, the case of three mathematics teachers was analyzed regarding the selection and use of textbooks,their students’ value judgements and the analysis of the textbooks themselves.
