Abstract
Since the legalization of gambling in Spain in 1977, there are many voices that attest that gambling has become a serious problem affecting increasingly more and more people. This PhD Thesis presents a sociological perspective on the study and analysis of what is known as social addictions and particularly pathological gambling. To do this, we will establish first a conceptual framework from which we should understand the reason for the existence of this social pathology, referencing social context addictions. Futhermore, we have tried to study and analyze aspects which were insufficiently explored and analyzed as are the subject of family and community associations and the relationship established between both, since the genesis and development of partnerships around this topic is inconceivable without families as social institutions and main part of any therapeutical process
