Devoción, economía y política : a propósito de dos inscripciones de Licosura (Acaya)

Abstract

Dos inscripciones del santuario de Despoina en Licosura (Arcadia) nos brindan información sobre el estado de su economía durante los quince últimos años del Principado y reflejan las dificultades para hacer frente a las obligaciones fiscales de la ciudad-santuario con Roma. En este contexto resulta significativa la ostentación del rango de polis, que Licosura con su recinto sagrado tiene al menos a partir de principios del siglo II a.C. y que, confirmado o reestablecido por la administración romana, responde a las exigencias del sistema fiscal augusteo.___________________________________Two inscriptions of the holly enclosure of Despoina in Licosura (Arcadia) provide evidence on the state of sanctuary's economics during the last fifteen years of the Principate and they reflect the difficulties of making in front of the fiscal obligations of the citysanctuary towards Rome. In this context it is significant the ostentation of the polis range that Licosura with its sacred enclosure has at least starting from principles of the century II a.C. and that, confirmed or re-settled down by the Roman administration, responds to the demands of Augustus' tax system.
