Abstract
The study analyzed the curriculum development of the area of Physical Education for three basic elements of the curriculum (aims, content and methodology). To complete the study objectives, quantitative and qualitative data were collected through the application of a postal survey and development of discussion groups. The results show that physical education teachers find it difficult to develop the requirements dictated by the curriculum. However, the data show clear differences between primary and secondary school teachers regarding the priority of educational goals, content selection and its implementation. Therefore, the results of this study support the idea that the manifestations of the faculty on curriculum development in Physical Education would be in part determined by the recommendations and values involving the official curriculum of each of the stages, where teachers perform their educational work.
