Abstract
La incorporación de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) a la edu-cación han trazado nuevas demandas hacia los educadores, los usuarios, las instituciones educativas y en general a las distintas esferas de la sociedad, abriendo procesos de reajuste y transformación que se manifiestan en nuevos usos culturales que encaminan a la innovación. Las redes sociales son herramientas que nos dan la oportunidad de mantener una comunicación constante, teniendo acce-so a la información en tiempo real y sin importar las distancias. En este artículo se presenta un estu-dio sobre el grado de aceptación y participación de las redes sociales de estudiantes, docentes y administrativos en la Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, Sede Regional de Chiriquí. Finalmente, se hace énfasis en los elementos que se deben tomar en cuenta para decidir las redes que se pueden utilizar en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje

Social networks are tools that give us the opportunity to maintain constant communication, accessing information in real time, regardless of distance. This paper presents a study on the level of acceptance and participation of online social networks students, teachers and administrators at the Technological University of Panama, Regional Headquarters of Chiriquí. Finally, emphasis is placed on the elements to be taken into account in deciding the online social net-works that can be used in the teaching-learning process
