Los intérpretes de sueños en los templos de Serapis

Abstract

Los testimonios epigráficos y papirológicos muestran que había intérpretes de sueños relacionados con los templos de Serapis desde Menfis en el siglo III a.C. hasta Delos y Atenas en los siglos II a.C y II d.C. debido a los sueños de incubación simbólicos que tenían lugar en esos templos. Mi trabajo trata de describir la evolución de tal relación entre el intérprete y el templo. Primeramente, en Menfis, era un profesional libre que trabajaba en los alrededores del templo, pero después, cuando el culto de Serapis se extendió por toda Grecia, pasó a ser un miembro del culto del templo, por lo menos en Delos y Atenas._____________________Epigraphic and papyrological evidences show that there were dream interpreters connected to Sarapis temples from Memphis in the third century b. C. to Delos and Athens in the II b. C. and II a. D. centuries due to the symbolic incubation dreams that took place in those temples. My paper tries to decribe the evolution of such relationship between the interpreter and the temple. Firstly, in Memphis, he was a free professional who worked around the temple, but afterwards, when the Sarapis cult spread throughout Greece, he became a worship member of the temple, at least in Delos and Athens.
