Abstract
Exchange Communication System (PECS), sistema visual compuesto
métodos planificados y realizados a corto plazo.
poderla llevar a cabo.
Language is present in our daily life since we are born, and it has its own function in the communication regarding the child’s affective, social and cognitive development. Therefore, in this current intervention project from a perspective of action as a teacher in therapeutic pedagogy, the communication area of language will be gone in depth and applied considering a case of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This will be performed through the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), a visual system composed of pictograms. With these illustrations we will be able to work with a student of the second grade of Elementary School who suffers this disorder; her school is Juan Luis Vives, located in Huelva, in which we started the Practicum belonging to Practicum II. In this way, both the girl with ASD and the rest of children of this classroom will benefit and be able to achieve linguistic abilities of communication through planned methods, carried out in the short term. To accomplish such aim, we will conduct a constructivist methodology, that is, pupils will be provided with all the necessary tools which allow them to build their own learning, solving those problematic circumstances. Lastly, this kind of intervention is designed without the possibility of putting it into practice owing to the pandemic caused by Covid-19 nowadays, therefore outcomes and conclusions are possible problems that can appear in such intervention, and so an enhancement proposal in order to be able to fulfil it.
