Abstract
Literary adaptations are an important part of children’s and young people’s literature, since they allow children and adolescents access to literary and cultural content that, due to their age, cannot yet be fully acquired. A descriptive study is proposed through a content analysis of the work Iliad. Odyssey. Aeneid, by Vicente Muñoz Puelles, with the aim of establishing the method for adapting the original text in terms of structure and technique, analyzing the topics treated and studying the stylistic aspects that give the work its adaptation character. The study establishes that adaptation has numerous advantages for its didactic use, especially due to the approach of the content and language of Homer to young people, the rearrangement of the material for a better understanding or the way in which the Valencian writer treats morally complex subjects such as adultery or the cruelty of war
