Abstract
Ante los nuevos retos que impone la sociedad en todos los órdenes de la vida, los
ingenieros informáticos se ven obligados a adquirir nuevas competencias personales, sociales y
profesionales que, aunque en gran medida siempre han sido necesarias, hoy en día resultan
imprescindibles. El presente trabajo se propone reflexionar sobre la factibilidad del enfoque por
competencia para el desarrollo de los futuros profesionales graduados de Ingeniería en Ciencias
Informática, para ello se realizó un estudio del enfoque por competencias desde diferentes
perspectivas: la psicología, la lingüística, la sociología, la didáctica y el mundo laboral, y luego se
determinó cuáles son las competencias que debe alcanzar un ingeniero informático y las ventajas que
estas les aportan
