Las redes sociales como recurso educativo en el ámbito universitario

Abstract

Los continuos avances tecnológicos que estamos viviendo, interrelacionan directamente con los cambios que la sociedad actual está sufriendo. Estos cambios, afectan a cada uno de las distintas vertientes del conocimiento, cambiando las reglas imperantes hasta el momento. Con esta premisa, consideramos como prioritaria, aquella que interfiere directamente con la sociedad futura que se está germinando, heredera directa de aquellos cambios a los que aludimos, la educación. Dentro de estos cambios aparecen las redes sociales, las cuales podemos definir como una serie de asociaciones que se dan virtualmente, y que están unidas por más de un tipo de relación o motivación, es decir tienen una serie de aspectos comunes, de ahí la afinidad a la hora de buscar una determinada red social para el individuo formar parte de ella. Si es verdad que las redes sociales desde hace poco tiempo se han introducido entre la sociedad incluyendo a personas que antes omitían el uso de internet. Esto hace que debido al poder comunicativo que tienen, se usen con fines muy distintos dependiendo del usuario. Por tanto, dentro del ámbito educativo no se puede permanecer ajeno ante este fenómeno y las nuevas formas de comunicación que están surgiendo en esta nueva era. El sistema educativo trabaja fundamentalmente con la transmisión de información y la publicación de la misma, y para ello es necesario adaptar esta transferencia a las nuevas formas comunicativas dadas por las redes socialesThe continuous technological progresses that we are living are directly interrelated to the changes that society as a whole is experimenting. This changes affect to every and each one of the slopes of knowledge, transforming the prevailing laws. Parting from this premise we consider as the priority the slope that interferes directly with the future society that is flourishing, direct successor of these changes that we are pointing: the education. Inside these changes the social networks appear - which we can define as a list of virtual associations, connected by various types of relationships or motivations. This means that they have a list of common aspects, which is the basis of the affinity between the social network and the user, inviting the user to take part on it. Social networks have been lately attracting new people that omitted the use of Internet before this point. This fact, as well as the communicative power that they hold, causes a great diversity of functions and content depending on the user and his interests. Thus, this phenomenon and the new forms of communication that are emerging on this new era can not be ignored from the educative ambit perspective. The educational system works with the information transmission and its publication, which necessarily requires the adapting of this transferring to the new communication tools that social networks provide.
