La dimensión afectiva en el alumnado: el caso de un proyecto de investigación sociocientífico

Abstract

Este trabajo describe una parte de la dimensión socioafectiva, concretamente, el valor de la tarea en el desarrollo de un trabajo colaborativo sobre cuestiones sociocientíficas abordadas a través de investigación escolar en una clase de ciencias. La muestra inicial considerada es un grupo aula de 28 alumnos de séptimo grado. Para caracterizar la dimensión socioafectiva del grupo compuesta por la utilidad, el interés y la importancia del valor de la tarea dado por el alumnado al tratar las temáticas sobre la biodiversidad, la contaminación del aire y del agua, el tabaquismo, las consecuencias sociales de las drogas, los efectos de las drogas en el cuerpo humano y las enfermedades respiratorias se aplicó el cuestionario MSLQ (Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire) antes y después de una intervención educativa, luego se estableció un Sistema de Categorías para determinar el estado y el nivel de desarrollo en la dimensión afectiva y se analizaron en conjunto varios de los siete subgrupos establecidos mediante una entrevista abierta para apoyar con las respuestas los resultados obtenidos a partir de la aplicación del cuestionario. Los resultados muestran que el tratamiento de cuestiones sociocientíficas por investigación escolar permite que el alumnado mantenga, autorregule e incremente el interés y la motivación, para lo cual utilizan la autoevaluación, la interacción social y los espacios alternativos que generan deseos de aprendizaje.

This work describes a part of the socio-affective dimension, specifically, the value of homework in the development of collaborative work on socio-scientific issues addressed through school research in a science class. The initial sample considered is a classroom group of 28 seventh grade students. To characterize the socio-affective dimension of the group made up of the usefulness, interest and importance of the value of the task given by the students when dealing with the issues of biodiversity, air and water pollution, smoking, the social consequences of drugs, the effects of drugs on the human body and respiratory diseases, the MSLQ (Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire) was applied before and after an educational intervention, then a Category System was established to determine the state and level of development in the affective dimension and several of the seven subgroups established through an open interview were analyzed together to support the results obtained from the application of the questionnaire. The results show that the treatment of socio-scientific questions by school research allows students to maintain, self-regulate and increase interest and motivation, for which they use self-evaluation, social interaction and alternative spaces that generate desire for learning.
