Abstract
The current jihadist movements are radical Islamists that seek to impose the global caliphate, control public and private life of people, and dispense with democratic or representative systems. The emergence of this thought is quite complex and varies among countries, groups and religious currents. The Hanbali legal school, in the opinion of many experts, is the one that will lay the foundations of this political current, by proposing the Sharia and the Caliphate as the main arguments of a political discourse that sought to conform a “perfect” model of society governed according to “the divine law”
