Abstract
Las Zonas Externas de la Cordillera Bética están afectadas por una deformación
extensional de carácter dúctil-frágil posterior a la estructuración
compresiva de vergencia NW. La dirección de extensión está en un rango
entre WSW yWNW. Esta extensión es la responsable de la destrucción parcial
del prisma acrecional externo, de edad Serravalliense-Tortoniense Inferior,
al S del Arco de Cazorla, y es coetánea a la denudación tectónica de las
Zonas Internas de la Cordillera. La ruptura de este prisma permite la fragmentación
y deriva extensional hacia elW de los dominios Subbético y Prebético
a altas tasas de desplazamiento
The External Zones of the Betic Cordillera are affected by extensional ductile-brittle deformation after the NW verging compressive phase. The preferred direction of extension is between WSW and WNW. South to the Cazorla Arc, this extensional phase is responsible of the partial destruction of the Serravallian-Lower Tortonian external accretionary prism coevally with the tectonic denudation of the Internal Zones. The rupture of this accretionary prism allows the fragmentation and extensional migration to the W of the Subbetic and Prebetic domains, which was produced by a high rate of displacement
