Mujeres científicas y olvidadas: diseño, implementación y evaluación de un proyecto de innovación docente e investigación educativa

Abstract

A lo largo de los siglos, las mujeres han llevado a cabo contribuciones notables a la ciencia. En concreto, descubrieron medicamentos que salvan vidas, hicieron inventos que cambiaron la sociedad, dirigieron investigaciones de vanguardia, entre otros aspectos. No obstante, la autoría de sus valiosos avances, a menudo, han sido ocultadas, siendo asignados los méritos únicamente a hombres en la mayoría de los casos. Partiendo de estas premisas, se decidió diseñar, implementar y evaluar el presente proyecto de innovación docente e investigación educativa, con el propósito principal de analizar diferentes biogramas de destacadas mujeres científicas que han sido olvidadas por la historia. La metodología empleada fue la investigación-acción participativa desarrollada por un total de 60 estudiantes (40 del Grado en Ingeniería Informática y 20 del Grado en Educación Primaria) de la Universidad de Huelva, durante el curso académico 2022/2023. Se concluye en la idea de que nos encontramos ante un alumnado muy satisfecho con el proyecto, debido, entre otros aspectos, a la adquisición de nuevos conocimientos en materia de igualdad de género (por ejemplo, mujeres científicas y sus contribuciones), además de un mayor compañerismo entre estudiantes de distintas titulaciones universitarias.

Throughout the centuries, women have made notable contributions to science. Specifically, they discovered life-saving medicines, made society-changing inventions, conducted cutting-edge research, and more. However, the authorship of their valuable advances has often been hidden, with the merits being assigned only to men in most cases. Based on these premises, it was decided to design, implement, and evaluate this teaching innovation and educational research project, with the main purpose of analyzing different biograms of prominent women scientists who have been forgotten by history. The methodology used was participatory action research developed by a total of 60 students (40 from the Degree in Computer Engineering and 20 from the Degree in Primary Education) from the University of Huelva, during the 2022/2023 academic year. It concludes with the idea that we are dealing with a student body that is very satisfied with the project, due, among other things, to the acquisition of new knowledge on gender equality (for example, women scientists and their contributions), in addition to a Greater camaraderie between students at different university degrees.
