Abstract
La traducción jurídica suele resultar
muy demandante para quienes se enfrentan a
ella. No en vano tiene dicha reputación, pues
los traductores jurídicos tienen que lidiar con
la incongruencia que se crea al poner frente a
frente dos ordenamientos jurídicos diferentes y
se ven obligados a buscar estrategias y emplear
técnicas para salvar las diferencias conceptuales y terminológicas que se originan. Por esta
razón, realizar un proceso de documentación
exhaustivo sobre la base del derecho comparado y aplicar un método de traducción ordenado
y estructurado ayuda a salvar dichos escollos y a
lograr decisiones justificadas y coherentes. A lo
largo de la presente contribución, se pretende
ofrecer un breve repaso a todos los conceptos
fundamentales que rodean a este tipo de traducción y cómo afrontarla
Forensic linguistics deals with the study of the interface between language and the law, however, this new discipline, due to its recent appearance, is still in early stages of development in many countries, including Spain. This is why, in this article, some dates and events that have been decisive for the emergence and progress of this !eld are mentioned, followed by a review of its current situation particularly in English-speaking countries, Germanic countries and Spain, among others. Finally, the main associations, research centres and universities where training or professionalizing activities are carried out in the !eld of forensic linguistics are also described
