Abstract
La presente exposición pretende ofrecer una panorámica
de recursos de educación artística como contribución al desarrollo
curricular de la competencia emocional. Parte de una reflexión
sobre la propia educación artística que actualmente se imparte, su
hipotético fundamento en la evolución plástica infantil y los criterios
evaluativos que sesgan la actividad artística infantil hacia el ejercicio
de la destreza manual. Sigue una presentación de la educación
artística terapéutica, nuevo ámbito nacido de la confluencia entre
educación artística y arteterapia, que aprovecha principios y estrategias
arteterapéuticos para su aplicación en contexto educativo.
El apartado principal se dedica a la arteterapia para el desarrollo
emocional; se ofrece una semblanza de las principales funciones
arteterapéuticas integradas en 5 áreas de actuación, e ilustradas
por referencias de su aplicación en menores afectados por diversas
problemáticas psicosociales. Finaliza esta aportación con un
apunte sobre la utilidad de los recursos de educación artística terapéutica
para fortalecer la salud emocional e integral.

It follows a presentation of therapeutic arts education, new field born of the confluence between art education and art therapy, which uses art therapy principles and strategies for application in educational context. The main section is devoted to art therapy for emotional development; offers a sketch of the main functions of art therapy in 5 areas of action, and illustrated by references of its application in children affected by various psycho-social problem. This contribution ends with a note about the usefulness of therapeutic arts education resources to strengthen comprehensive and emotional health.
